    Create warm, nature-inspired textiles with Light Clay (86), a muted clay shade softened by peach and rosy undertones. As the lighter companion to Deep Clay (85), it is a beautiful choice for gentle colour transitions and coordinated rug designs.

    From sandy clay to deeper rosy browns, the clay colour family fits beautifully into the earthy palettes trending for 2026–2027. Light Clay brings this direction to handmade rugs and textile art with its gentle warmth and natural character.

    Natural wool for creative projects

    Made from 100% New Zealand wool, this rustic yarn has a 4-ply construction, with four strands twisted together. Each 500 g cone provides approximately 890 metres / 973 yards.

    Use it for rug tufting, rug weaving, tapestry weaving, decorative wall hangings and textile art. It can also be used for punch needle projects with an appropriate needle and backing fabric.

    Its subtle peach-pink tone works beautifully in floral rugs, botanical motifs, organic shapes, abstract patterns and landscape-inspired designs.

    Build your clay colour palette

    Combine Light Clay and Deep Clay for a harmonious pairing of lighter and darker tones. Add Sandy Clay, ivory, oatmeal or sandy beige for a soft earthy palette, or Pistachio Green for a fresh garden-inspired combination.

    Working with this yarn

    For tufting, adjust the number of strands to suit your tufting gun, backing fabric and desired pile density. Test a small section before beginning your project.

    Yarn Care Instructions

    Hand or gentle machine wash at max 40°C / 104°F. Use mild detergent. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry. Additional care varies by fiber type.
